I went to the Independent candidate, John Bowlers, campaign launch this evening. Drinks and nibbles were on the Palace Hotel menu, as well as a few well orated speeches. It was fun jumping on to a political bandwagon and listening to some of the rhetoric. Being the first time I had actually heard J B speak, I was impressed with the simplicity of his message.
It was also interesting seeing such a cross-section of the community from all political persuasions supporting this once Labour party heavyweight. I guess what really appeals to me is the fact that John B is not distributing his preferences, making him a true independent.
